Enjoy cinematic moments together

New 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology with 11 speaker units delivers immersive surround sound to a wider area, so everyone can share the experience.

Cinematic sound for a wider audience

BRAVIA Theatre Bar 8 combines physical and phantom speakers, creating a wider surround sound field that covers more of the room.

Ultimate surround with 360 Spatial Sound Mapping

Experience the ultimate in home surround. 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology creates five phantom speakers in front of you and reflects sound off the ceiling and walls, enabling cinema-style surround sound from a single soundbar.

Enjoy wider surround sound coverage

Now more people can enjoy the same immersive surround experience. By using phantom speakers, 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology achieves wider coverage than conventional virtual surround systems.

Unleash the full potential of 360 Spatial Sound Mapping

Add optional wireless rear speakers for an even more expansive sound stage. Working with the rear speakers, the Bar 8 creates up to 11 phantom speakers, including speakers behind you for that authentic cinema feel.

With BRAVIA Theatre, home becomes cinema

Fill every corner of your room with soul-stirring cinematic sound. Pairing BRAVIA with BRAVIA Theatre brings the emotion and excitement of the cinema home, an unmatched audio-visual experience.

Makes everywhere the best seat

It doesn’t matter which seat you’re in. It doesn’t even matter what your room’s acoustics are like. Sound Field Optimisation lets everyone experience movie theatre surround sound.

Optimised sound for maximum enjoyment

We’ve made surround sound simple. Sound Field Optimisation not only calibrates sound based on speaker position, it also takes your room’s acoustics into account, and your listening position too.

Speaker placement made simple

Adding rear speakers? Don’t worry about finding the perfect position. Sound Field Optimisation calibrates sound based on their location and uses phantom speakers to fill any gaps in the surround stage.

Calibrated to suit your room

No need to remodel your home to get movie theatre acoustics. Sound Field Optimisation analyses your room’s acoustic characteristics, then uses advanced signal processing to overwrite them with those of a movie theatre.

The best seat is where you are

Enjoy quality surround sound wherever you’re sitting. Just run calibration with our smartphone app, BRAVIA Connect, and BRAVIA Theatre Bar 8 will detect your position in the room and optimise sound to suit.

Outstanding acoustic performance with 11 speaker units

There’s more to great surround sound than signal processing alone. Your physical speakers need to deliver exceptional acoustic performance too—and BRAVIA Theatre Bar 8 doesn’t disappoint.

New 2-way speaker

Discover clear, wide surround sound from a single soundbar. The Bar 8 features a new 2-way speaker with added tweeters for front and centre, delivering wider surround sound and a precise sound image.

Quad woofer delivers powerful bass

The Bar 8 may be slim but it delivers remarkably powerful, punchy bass thanks to a built-in quad woofer.

Side speakers fill the space with sound

Side speakers reflect wide directional sound off the walls, filling your entire room with expansive sound and giving entertainment a real sense of drama and scale. The ambient sound recognised by the algorithm contributes to the expansive sound too.

Hear sound from overhead

Up-firing speakers reflect sound off the ceiling for immersive overhead audio. 360 Spatial Sound Mapping creates phantom ceiling speakers for even more atmospheric sound.

X-Balanced Speaker Unit

The speakers’ unique rectangular shape maximises the diaphragm area for punchy bass. It also reduces driver excursion and maintains sound pressure, ensuring less distortion and greater vocal clarity.

So easy to use

BRAVIA Theatre Bar 8 makes surround sound simple. From initial setup to smartphone control, it’s all about minimum effort, maximum enjoyment.

Do it all with BRAVIA Connect

The BRAVIA Connect smartphone app guides you through initial settings, assists with troubleshooting, and lets you control volume, sound field and more. It also notifies you about software updates and lets you control a compatible TV too.

Set up in seconds

Simply plug in the Bar 8, connect to your TV using HDMI, and power on. With LAN, HDMI IN and HDMI OUT (eARC), you’re all set to enjoy a new spatial surround sound experience.

Accessible for all

To help people who are blind or have low vision set up the soundbar, tactile dots indicate a QR code for the BRAVIA Connect app, which offers screen reader support. Tactile dots on the back panel indicate the eARC HDMI terminal for connecting to a TV.

Space-saving design

The supplied spacer allows the soundbar to sit tidily over the TV stand for an integrated look that saves you space.

With BRAVIA, home becomes cinema

Bring the emotion and excitement of a movie theatre home. Pair BRAVIA Theatre Bar 8 with a BRAVIA TV for an unmatched audio-visual experience, immersing you in every scene as never before.

TV and soundbar in perfect harmony

Step up to a completely cinematic experience. Acoustic Centre Sync enables the Bar 8 to use your compatible BRAVIA as a centre speaker. So sound comes from the screen, adjusted as part of one integrated speaker system.

Crystal-clear voice. Precise dialogue.

No more muffled voices. Combined with compatible BRAVIA, our new Voice Zoom 3 powered by AI machine learning recognises human voices and amplifies or reduces their volume so even faint dialogue sounds loud and clear.

Effortless control with BRAVIA

Control surround sound easily with your BRAVIA TV remote. Sound settings automatically appear on the BRAVIA Quick Settings menu for easy control of features, like Sound Field and volume.
